To be reimbursed for equipment and supplies used for your child’s autism intervention you will need to fill out a Justification for Equipment and Supplies (JFE) Form. The BC Government - Autism Funding website outlines the 5 Steps you need to follow and includes the JFE form.
If one of our current team members has availability, we will happily support this addition to your team. We can help find and interview new BIs but often find it best if families do this as they know who will best fit their chid’s needs. We can assist you with where to place ads and and facilitate training yours BIs.
Once your Autism Funding is approved, it’s best to sign up with the parent portal which makes allocating AFU funds easiest for families. Each service provider will need their own Request to Pay form, you can find links to these forms below.
There is no “one size fits all” answer to this question. Kids learn at their own pace. Using assent based learning, we never force a child to do any task, so early learning stages may progress slowly at first. It takes time for an interventionist and child to develop rapport and for us to get to know your child. Usually, you will begin to notice sustained changes around the 3-6 month mark and growth each year.
